1776 Commission Report and 'Patriotic Education' Order

Trump's January 29, 2025 executive order on K-12 'indoctrination" reestablished the President's Advisory 1776 Commission, which had been created by Executive Order 13958 on November 2, 2020, released the 1776 Report on January 18, 2021, and was revoked by President Biden on January 20, 2021.

The report argued slavery was 'more the rule than the exception throughout human history" and drew condemnation from major historical organizations for presenting a politicized narrative without consultation with professional U.S. historians.
