Trump's taxpayer-funded golf habit has crossed the $101.2 million mark in just 14 months of his second term, according to a HuffPost analysis published March 28, 2026. He has spent 110 days on golf courses he owns — more than one quarter of all his days in office.
The pace is staggering. It took Trump two full years to reach $100 million in his first term. He's done it in 14 months this time — two-thirds of his entire first-term golf spending compressed into barely over a year. His first-term total was $151.5 million over 293 golf days. At the current pace, his second term is projected to cost taxpayers $300 million.
The cost breakdown per course: $3.4 million per Mar-a-Lago trip (56 visits), $2.7 million per Doral trip (5 visits), and $1.1 million per Bedminster trip (8 visits). Every dollar flows directly to properties Trump personally owns and profits from.
Jordan Libowitz of CREW captured the absurdity: “At a time when gas prices are spiking and Americans across the country find themselves in an ever-worsening affordability crisis, the president has burned through over $100 million in taxpayer money in order to make promotional appearances at his golf courses.”
This spending is happening during an active war with Iran, a partial DHS shutdown, TSA workers going unpaid, and the worst affordability crisis in decades.
