While Trump Is President, His Family Business Signs Billions in New Real-Estate Deals With Saudi and Qatari State-Linked Developers

In the weeks before Trump's May 2025 trip to the Gulf, his first foreign trip of the second term, the Trump Organization announced a golf resort and villas in Qatar with Dar Global, a developer tied to the Saudi government, and Qatari Diar, “a company owned by the Qatari government,” as Newsweek put it. It followed with a roughly $1 billion Trump Plaza in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, announced in September 2025, and in January 2026 a Trump International Golf Club at Wadi Safar near Riyadh. Dar Global's chief executive, Ziad el-Chaar, said the projects together are valued at around $10 billion.

Eric Trump: “We are incredibly proud to expand the Trump brand into Qatar through this exceptional collaboration with Qatari Diar and Dar Global.” The family business's second-term ethics pledge permits foreign deals but, Newsweek noted, “explicitly bars partnerships with foreign governments”; asked about Qatari Diar, the Trump Organization told the Associated Press that its agreement was solely with the Saudi firm. Trump has denied benefiting from any of his family's deals. His 2025 financial disclosure lists license fees from both countries, including $9.2 million through DT Marks KSA and $5.25 million through DT Marks Doha (see Trump's Disclosure Lists About $2 Billion Coming In During His First Year Back, $1.4 Billion of It From Crypto); the Trump Organization did not pursue new foreign deals during his first term. Correction (September 25, 2026): this entry previously placed these deals around a May 2026 Gulf visit and dated itself May 2026. The trip was in May 2025; the Qatar deal was announced weeks before it, the Jeddah tower in September 2025 and the Wadi Safar resort in January 2026. It also said the deals came as the administration courted both countries on arms sales, which its sources do not mention, and described the Wadi Safar project without a source for it; one has been added. The Trump Organization's and Trump's responses were added.
