On May 28, 2026, Katie Miller — the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller — publicly identified Paulina Mangubat, the staffer who runs the official Democratic Party social media account. Mangubat had used the @TheDemocrats account to respond “shut up you ugly f***” to a transphobic post Stephen Miller had made about Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico.
Katie Miller's post on X named Mangubat, shared her photo, listed her age (30), her marital status (unmarried), and her childlessness, and added disparaging remarks about her appearance and mental health. Katie Miller then appeared on Fox News and framed the Democratic Party's response as part of a pattern of “violent rhetoric” linked to assassination attempts on Donald Trump.
Mangubat responded with brevity: “Well, now seems like a good time to share that I'm getting married!”
The incident is notable for two reasons. First, it is doxing of a private citizen working in a routine partisan-communications role, directed by the spouse of a senior White House official. Second, it lands inside the Texas Senate runoff cycle: the original Stephen Miller post attacked James Talarico, who is now the Democratic nominee facing Trump-backed Ken Paxton in November (see Trump-Backed Ken Paxton Beats Cornyn Nearly Two-to-One in the Texas Senate Runoff, Erasing a Three-Term Incumbent). The Mangubat dox appears designed to discredit, by association, the social-media operation defending Talarico's campaign.
