House Investigators Say Epstein Files Show Him Working for Saudi, Kuwaiti, Russian, and Israeli Interests to Influence Trump, Without Ever Registering

On July 21, 2026, Rep. Jamie Raskin, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, wrote to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and DNI-nominee Jay Clayton demanding information about what committee investigators describe as an extensive foreign influence operation run through Jeffrey Epstein, none of it registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The letter draws on newly surfaced Epstein files. After the 2016 election, Epstein urged a contact to “please transmit to HE” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman an offer to “represent [Kingdom of Saudi Arabia] interests. period,” proposing himself as a “financial bodyguard” and “financial architect” for Saudi leadership, while interspersing the outreach with visits to Trump Tower and gatherings with “trump people” in Palm Beach. Ahead of Trump's May 2017 Riyadh trip, he advised a contact of Kuwait's Emir on “concrete” asks around Yemen peace talks. On Russia, he advised then-UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin that Trump “must be seen to get something,” and ahead of a Putin-Trump summit suggested to Council of Europe chief Thorbjorn Jagland: “I think you might suggest to putin, that lavrov, can get insight on talking to me.” The files also detail his advisory relationship with former Israeli PM Ehud Barak.

“Jeffrey Epstein never registered as a foreign agent,” Raskin wrote. “Yet numerous recently released documents now show he acted aggressively on behalf of multiple foreign governments... in order to influence policies of the first Trump Administration.” The same week, Alan Dershowitz failed to appear before the panel examining the files; even Oversight Chairman James Comer called the no-show “unacceptable.” The investigation reframes the Epstein story the administration keeps trying to close: not only what the files say about crimes against girls, but what they say about who was buying access to Trump through him (see Trump-Epstein Relationship & Files Controversy, Epstein Survivors Film a PSA Against Blanche's Attorney General Nomination as the NYC Bar Calls Him 'Unfit' and Epstein's Longtime Assistant Tells House Investigators She Personally Arranged Phone Calls Between Epstein and Trump).
