While signing executive orders in the Oval Office on September 25, 2025, Trump was asked about Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), who had compared ICE to slave patrols in an MSNBC interview. Before the question was finished, he said, “Let me tell you before you even ask. She's a very low IQ person. I mean, if we ever had to pass an aptitude test, that's the one [who] should take one.” He added, “This is a low IQ person who I can't even believe is a congressperson.”
He then turned to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who was born in Mogadishu, telling reporters that he had met the president of Somalia and “suggested that maybe he'd like to take her back.” The anecdote drew laughter in the room. Trump also said the Democrats “have become radical left lunatics.” TheGrio noted the remarks came days after Trump ally Laura Loomer called Crockett a “ghetto Black b—h,” and Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Yvette Clarke told the outlet, “The [Trump] administration has made it clear that it's open season on Black people.”
Trump has repeatedly called Crockett “low IQ” during his second term. On October 27, 2025, aboard Air Force One, he said, “They have Jasmine Crockett, a low-IQ person,” called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez low IQ too, and dared both to take the cognitive exam he took at Walter Reed. That exam is a screening test, not an IQ test.
Crockett answered on CNN that night: “Listen, he's never been known to be an Einstein. This is not a guy who got in on merit, when it came to going to college.” She said Trump “consistently is obsessing over two women of color that are members of the House,” adding, “I don't know what Black woman hurt him in his past, honey, but it is really taking him through it.”
Correction (October 14, 2026): An earlier version of this entry said Trump warned that Crockett's “games” were “causing bad things to happen,” described that as an implicit threat, and said he blamed all political violence on the radical left in the same remarks. No live source supports those quotes or claims, so they have been removed. The earlier version also placed Ocasio-Cortez in the September 25 remarks (she was the subject of the October 27 remarks, while the September 25 remarks paired Crockett with Ilhan Omar), stitched Crockett's response into a single altered quote, and asserted that Trump uses the “low IQ” insult on Black figures specifically, which this entry's sources do not establish. Its four sources were all dead or unverifiable and have been replaced.
